Liverpool are seeking plenty of additions this summer as they seek to knock Manchester City off their perch at the top of the Premier League this season but the battle with the Citizens is set to extend beyond the field of play.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are in the market for a top-class midfield addition this summer, particularly due to the imminent loss of German international Emre Can, and Napoli ace Jorginho has been touted as a potential candidate.
However, The Daily Mail states Manchester City are ahead of Liverpool in the chase of 26-year-old Italy international.
The Reds were previously touted as the favourites for his signature but City have since moved into a pole position in the market, with Pep Guardiola’s side said to have already held positive talks with the highly-rated midfielder.
It’s also stated that Napoli, chasing the Serie A title, are desperate to retain Jorginho’s services and Manchester United are also attributed with an interest.
