Liverpool have excelled this season and Jurgen Klopp’s side is set to be bolstered in the summer with the addition of Naby Keita from RB Leipzig, although the Reds had a chance of bringing the combative midfielder to the club early in January.
A deal for Keita was agreed last summer but the German side offered his services to Klopp in the mid-season transfer window, although there was a significant catch and was why the Reds decided to wait until the end of the campaign.
The TimesĀ report that Leipzig wanted to bring Trent Alexander-Arnold to the Bundesliga as part of any deal that saw Keita move to Anfield in January, as they continue their quest to try to land top British talent.
19-year-old Alexander-Arnold has been on of the breakthrough performers for Klopp’s side this season, taking advantage of Nathaniel Clyne’s continued injury woes to establish himself as the first-choice option at right-back.
His stellar performances include a Man of the Match display against Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals, whilst he’s tipped to force his way into Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the World Cup.
