Rangers are working on a deal to sign Harry Wilson on loan from Liverpool – and fans of the Glasgow giants have given their approval on Twitter.

The Sun claim new Ibrox manager Steven Gerrard has made an approach about signing Wilson, 21, on a season-long loan but faces rival interest from Aston Villa, Leeds and Huddersfield.

It is reported that Liverpool are open to a deal but “want a loan fee of £250,000 plus penalties if Wilson does not play enough games”.

Wilson has a burgeoning reputation after making a huge impact while on loan at Championship outfit Hull in the second half of last season.

The Anfield academy product scored seven goals and laid on four assists from 13 matches as he took his outstanding form at age-group level into senior football.

Wilson has also scored at international level after making his Wales debut earlier this season in a further signal of his immense potential.

Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to express their approval of their club’s pursuit, hailing Wilson as “brilliant” and “better than Patrick Roberts”, who has just completed a loan spell at Celtic.
