Former Liverpool ace Suso has admitted that he is eyeing up an Anfield return at some point in the future, and fans have taken to Twitter to discourage the club from making that happen.
In an interview with the Guardian, Suso said: “Premier League football is different, I would call it special: I would like to play for Liverpool again some day. I grew up there and it is a big club.”
The Spanish attacking midfielder spent five years on Merseyside after the club snapped him up as a 16-year-old from Cadiz in 2010.
Suso was sold to AC Milan for just £1million in 2015, with the Spaniard then loaned out to Serie A rivals Genoa where he impressed enough to earn a first-team place the next season.
The attacker has really pushed on since then and become a key player for the Rossoneri, making 95 appearances for the club so far, netting 15 times and providing 26 assists.
This season he has been particularly impressive, bagging eight goals and laying on 14 assists in all competitions as the club qualified for the Europa League next season.
Fans have now taken to Twitter to react to Suso’s declaration, with many saying ‘no thanks’ while claiming that the 24-year-old would not be good enough to make an impact in the Premier League.
