Speculation surrounding the future of Liverpool assistant Zeljko Buvac has been rife in the past week, after the club confirmed that Jurgen Klopp’s long-serving ally would be absent for the remainder of the season.

The Reds cited personal reasons behind Buvac’s absent but plenty of reports have emerged to suggest that he could be set to take a step into management on his own, as he’s widely being linked with succeeding Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.

Now, Sky Sports have given further insight into those reports and claim that Buvac could move to the Emirates Stadium to work in a three-man structure alongside the Gunners’ head of recruitment Sven Mislintat and head of football operations Raul Sanllehi.

“Sky Sports News understands Arsenal wish to appoint Wenger’s successor as soon as possible after the season closes – with Mislintat championing Buvac, his former colleague at Borussia Dortmund.”

“Mislintat believes a three-man structure incorporating himself, Buvac as head coach and Raul Sanllehi, Arsenal’s head of football relations, is the best way to develop a successful long-term strategy at the Emirates.”
