Besiktas manager Senol Gunes has revealed that midfielder Anderson Talisca is set to complete a move to the Premier League amid interest from Liverpool.

The Brazilian attacking midfielder has been the subject of interest from the Reds and rivals Manchester United, with his form for Besiktas this year catching the eye of several top clubs.

Manager Gunes has now claimed that the 24-year-old will be playing in the Premier League next season, but the identity of the club remains a mystery.

As quoted by the Daily Mail, Gunes said: “I am sorry that Talisca is gone, he’ll be a competitor to Cenk Tosun in the Premier League.”

Good move for Liverpool?

Absolutely.

Talisca has been a standout performer for Besiktas in what has been a decent season for the Turkish club, with them impressing in the Champions League group stages.

While the Black Eagles did end up being eliminated in the next round at the hands of Bayern Munich, the 6ft 3in colossus was one of their best players in a brilliant step for Turkish football.

The attacking midfielder scored an impressive 20 goals in all competitions for the club this season, also chipping in with eight assists, and that kind of output puts him in good stead to make an impact in the Premier League.

Likely to happen?

It looks like he will complete a move to the Premier League in the coming weeks, and a move to Liverpool does make sense considering the Reds’ failure to replace Philippe Coutinho yet.

However, the heavy competition from rivals United means this is a tough one for Liverpool, with Talisca previously claiming he would be excited to join a club like the Red Devils.
