Liverpool have been given the green light to sign Bayer Leverkusen attacker Julian Brandt if they cough up his price tag, according to Calcio Insider.

The transfer site claims that the Reds want to strengthen in the final third of the pitch during the summer transfer window and are set to reignite a bid to land the Bundesliga speedster.

It is understood that Jurgen Klopp’s side want to sign the 22-year-old after holding January interest in him, despite the fact he penned a new deal in April extending his stay until 2021.

The report details that the Germany international only signed a new deal to boost his price tag and it is now believed Leverkusen would be willing to sell him for £52million this summer.

Liverpool are prepared to pay the colossal eight-figure sum for Brandt and a deal is definitely now on the cards.

Good move for Liverpool?

Liverpool could be just a few top signings away from challenging for the Premier League next season and adding an extra quality attacker will give Klopp real depth to his squad.

Brandt is highly-rated wide man that has been in great form for Leverkusen this season, scoring 12 goals and supplying seven assists in just 39 appearances.

He is a skilful left-winger with bundles of pace and has the attributes to make him a real success at Anfield.

If this report is to be believed, Brandt will be a Liverpool player before the 2018/19 season begins.

The Merseyside club are being heavily linked with the German attacker for yet another transfer window and this one certainly has more legs on it.
