OPINION

Liverpool are one of the clubs that have been offered the chance to sign pocket-sized midfielder Jean Michael Seri from French outfit Nice, according to the Telegraph.

The newspaper claims that Nice have offered the 5ft 6in ace to the top-six clubs in the Premier League.

The Daily Mail previously reported in April that Chelsea have enquired about the 26-year-old, while Manchester United, Manchester City, Everton and Liverpool have all been mentioned as suitors in the past 12 months.

It is understood that he has a £34.8million release clause in his contract and has been a key player for his side this season.

Good move for Liverpool?

Seri is an all round balanced central midfielder and is a strong enforcer despite his diminutive style.

The Ivory Coast international usually plays in a deep-lying midfield role and would definitely add some serious depth to the squad at Anfield.

He has managed 10 assists in 43 appearances to Nice to prove he can also provide an attacking threat and he looks cut out for Premier League football.

Likely to happen?

Liverpool are already set to bring in Naby Keita this summer to help bolster options in Jurgen Klopp’s midfield and it would be a slight surprise to watch Seri arrive too.

However, he has been a long-term target for the Reds and it appears like he is well within their grasp if they want him.
