AC Milan’s dazzling attacker Suso has revealed he wants to return to Liverpool in the future, but feels he is settled at the San Siro for now.

The 24-year-old winger has explained that he would be open to returning to Anfield after leaving the Merseyside club in 2015.

However, he is a key first teamer for Italian giants Milan right now, scoring eight goals and supplying 14 assists in 50 appearances across all competitions this season.

“When there are rumours about me leaving I reiterate that I am happy here and I think the club is with me,” Suso told the Guardian.

The Spaniard has left the door open though for a Premier League return as he talked up his former employees Liverpool.

“Premier League football is different, I would call it special: I would like to play for Liverpool again some day. I grew up there and it is a big club,” he said.

Italian outlet Calciomercato have reported that Liverpool attempted to re-sign Suso back in January and that he currently has a £35million release clause in his contract with Milan.

OPINION

Suso has improved massively since he left Liverpool three years ago and has been lighting up the Serie A with his performances. The left-footed wide man has started to reach his potential and Jurgen Klopp’s side should seriously consider a summer raid for him. He has already revealed that a return to Anfield is firmly in his minds and it seems like he would be well within their grasps now if they want him. Liverpool obviously have had their dynamic frontline of Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane this season, but there is very little pressure for a starting place in the squad. Liverpool have to strengthen in most areas of the pitch over the summer if they are to challenge for the Premier League crown next season and Suso is definitely a player that would improve the squad depth. The assist king is an extremely intelligent attacker that ghosts into goalscoring areas and supporters should hope he is back in a red shirt next season.
