Liverpool fans on social media were appalled by a report that linked them with making a move for Leicester City’s Harry Maguire.
It was claimed by The Guardian that the Reds were monitoring the 25-year-old who stands at 6ft 4in tall (according to Transfermarkt) as Jurgen Klopp had made it the club’s priority to sign a high-class centre-back.
While Maguire has received praise in recent seasons following impressive displays for the Foxes it seems a large majority of fans weren’t keen to welcome him to Anfield anytime soon.
Several supporters took to Twitter to voice their concerns over the colossus’ mobility with one even directly calling him a “slokepoke” due to his lack of pace.
One fan even claimed they preferred having current Reds defender Dejan Lovren over the prospect of signing Maguire with another suggesting it would be a downgrade if the Foxes defender was signed.
The Guardian’s report also stated that Premier League champions Manchester City were keen on signing the 25-year-old and it seems Reds supporters would be more in favour of him making that move.
Maguire is currently in Russia with England at the World Cup and featured for his nation in their opening game of the tournament against Tunisia.
