Liverpool are willing to pay £52.9million for Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen, according to Don Balon.
The Spanish publication state that Jurgen Klopp is aware that the performances of shot-stoppers Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius leave much to be desired and from that perspective he views the current Barca keeper as a safe bet.
Don Balon report that £52.9million (which is 60 million euros) would trigger the release clause in the 29-year-old’s Barcelona contract.
Good move for Liverpool?
The position of goalkeeper is a key area of the team that Klopp needs to be addressed in this window and the Reds are going to have to spend big to get a suitable player through the doors of Anfield.
It is claimed by Don Balon that the only way Cillessen, who made only 11 appearances for his club side last season, is leaving Barcelona is if his release clause is met, so the Reds shouldn’t mess around negotiating if they want him.
The 29-year-old would easily be an upgrade on Mignolet and his experience would give him the edge over a 24-year-old Karius so it would be a worthwhile signing if Klopp opts to act.

Likely to happen?
Don Balon are far from winning reliable source of the year but they may be onto something with this report.
The Reds have constantly being linked to the rarely-used Barcelona goalkeeper and there is no smoke without fire, especially as the club’s other options when it comes to finding a new goalkeeper appear to be dropping like flies.
The only big obvious flaw in the Reds’ pursuit of Cillessen is that according to Don Balon’s report Chelsea and other unnamed clubs are also willing to spend big to get the keeper away from Barcelona this summer.
However the Reds have been working fast in this transfer window so this deal could move quickly.
