Exit-bound Liverpool defender Jon Flanagan is set to link up with Scottish giants Rangers – and the Reds supporters appear glad to see the back of him.
The Merseyside club have already confirmed that the 25-year-old will depart Anfield at the end of June when his contract expires, leaving with 51 senior appearances to his name.
The Glasgow Evening Times reports that the English full-back is close to completing a move to Ibrox and linking up with his former teammate turned manager Steven Gerrard.
Gerrard has already tapped into his Liverpool connections since taking over as the Light Blues manager by taking Ovie Ejaria on loan and he now looks set to land Flanagan on a free transfer.
Times reporter Paul Joyce claimed on his personal Twitter account that Rangers are “hoping” to sign the right-back, who at one stage was one of the best upcoming talents at Liverpool.
He managed to break into the first-team on a regular basis a few years ago, but has since fallen out of favour under Jurgen Klopp and spent time out on loan with Burnley and Bolton.
Liverpool fans on social media are not too bothered about the imminent exit of Flanagan, but expect their former captain Gerrard to help revive his stuttering career at Ibrox.
