Liverpool are on the charge early in this summer’s transfer market, with the Reds already having secured one signing and looking on the verge of a couple more.

Jurgen Klopp has already secured the arrival of Fabinho, who will enter their midfield ranks alongside Naby Keita, who they signed last summer.

The club also look likely to sign Lyon attacker Nabil Fekir, with several other names also being linked to the club in what has been a busy few weeks.

One of those other names is Malcom, the Brazilian winger from Bordeaux, who has been heavily linked with Tottenham and Arsenal in the past.

Liverpool are reported to have entered the hunt for the 21-year-old wing wizard this summer, but a major development has now seemingly put an end to their chances.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, the Brazilian flyer has now set his heart on a move to Inter Milan, despite interest from the Reds, PSG and Borussia Dortmund.

Di Marzio claims that Liverpool submitted an ‘attractive request’ to the winger, but he has instead decided to commit to a move to Inter.

It is said that Bordeaux are holding out for £42million for their prize asset, and this would suggest that Liverpool have dodged a bullet here.

Malcom is a young player with fantastic potential, and he may well end up being worth much more than the quoted £42million in the future.

However, he is still relatively untested at the highest level, and there remain big questions over his ability to transfer his form in Ligue 1 – 12 goals and eight assists in 38 games in 2017/18 – to the Premier League.

There would also be major issues of congestion at Anfield, with Malcom more than likely to be sitting on the bench for much of the season behind Klopp’s preferred front three and Fekir.

All in all it looks like a move that would make little sense for Liverpool both footballing-wise and financially, and they look to have dodged a very expensive bullet this summer.
