Liverpool would be making a huge blunder to even consider an offer as low as the one that Lazio are reportedly working on in order to sign Marko Grujic.

The Italian giants are thought, according to the Daily Mirror, to be a preparing a £5million offer for the 6ft 3in tall [Source: Transfermarkt] midfielder.

Not only should the Reds instantly reject this plotted bid if it comes across their desk they shouldn’t even bother taking a moment to consider it.

Grujic, 22, may not be regularly featuring in Jurgen Klopp’s first-team plans but he is a midfielder with a bright future at Anfield.

The central midfielder impressed in the second half of the 2017/18 campaign while on loan at Cardiff City and showcased several glimpses of his promise that prove he is developing into a player worthy of wearing the Liverpool shirt sooner or later.

Grujic may need to depart on loan for the 2018/19 season to get regular football to continue to develop but the thought of selling him should be unthinkable, especially for a fee as low as £5million.

If the Reds consider or take even a second to think about the offer then word will soon get out and other teams will lodge low offers for the midfielder as they will think there is a chance to grab a bargain.

The last thing the Reds need is to have to waste time rejecting the countless clubs that will try their luck if this scenario develops as they need to plough on with getting rid of the talent they don’t want, not battling to keep the stars of the future at the club.

Therefore it would be a massive blunder for Klopp’s side to even consider a bid as potentially insulting as Lazio’s offer sounds like being as it would open the floodgates to teams thinking there’s bargains to be had at Anfield.
