Liverpool must instantly swoop for Paris St Germain goalkeeper Alphonse Areola in order to acquire the perfect new No.1 goalkeeper for them.
The 25-year-old PSG keeper is head and shoulders above the Reds’ current goalkeeping options Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius and would instantly make a difference between the sticks at Anfield if signed.
Areola, who has amazing reflexes, would be perfect for the Reds as not only is he capable of being a No.1 choice for any Premier League team right now, given his age he would be a solution to the club’s goalkeeping issues for many seasons to come.
The goalkeeper who is currently at the World Cup with France has valuable experience having played 73 times for French giants PSG.
In his 73 outings for the club, he has conceded 57 goals and kept a ridiculously impressive 36 clean sheets.
Areola is also experienced in the Champions League, which is a vital requirement for the Reds, as he has featured 19 times in total in the contest and has managed to keep seven clean sheets in the process.
According to the Guardian, Areola would likely cost less than £25million if the French club complete the signing of Gianluigi Buffon.
Calciomercato previously reported that Buffon was set to say yes to PSG’s contract offer and had decided to join them, which means that a bargain swoop for Areola will be on the cards.
This is all means that the Reds would end up with the perfect new No.1 by signing the French shot-stopper from PSG as not only is he talented, his expected price tag is a steal.
