Liverpool attacker Ryan Kent is expected to undergo a medical with Rangers ahead of joining up with his new teammates on Monday morning, according to the Scottish Sun.

The national newspaper claim that the 21-year-old winger has agreed to join Steven Gerrard’s side on a season long loan and that he is expected in Glasgow today.

The Scottish Sun report that Gerrard knew of Kent’s potential from his time at Anfield which caused the Gers to act fast to secure the winger’s services for the upcoming season.

OPINION

This seems like another smart transfer decision by Liverpool this summer as Kent needs to be playing regularly in order to continue his exciting development. The winger may have only made one senior appearances for the Reds so far in his young career but his reputation for being of the club’s potential hidden gems is well established. Kent has had several loan spells away from the club in order to gain vital experience in recent seasons and hopefully working with Gerrard will continue to see him learn valuable lessons. The winger, who can dazzle on either flank, will hopefully be able to aid the Liverpool’s legend quest to achieve success at Rangers next season by playing a big part at the club. Kent clearly has the potential to be a fantastic attacking threat for Rangers, Gerrard just needs to make sure the club see the best from the promising youngster on a regular basis.
