Liverpool are in the hunt to sign Rennes attacker Ismaila Sarr following his impressive displays at the World Cup in Russia, according to The Sun.

The national newspaper claim that the 20-year-old winger is on the radars of Chelsea, Juventus, Barcelona, Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City as well as the Reds.

The Sun report that Rennes want around £50million for Sarr with his agent being quoted by the paper as sharing that he has “received many calls” about his in-demand client.

OPINION

Sarr who has blistering pace did standout at the World Cup for Senegal during his three outings but it’s hard to imagine the Reds paying £50million for him anytime soon. The 20-year-old winger, who can feature comfortably on either flank as well as a centre-forward, according to the Sun’s update, has been watched by the Reds but that doesn’t mean they’re about to make a move. Jurgen Klopp is already spoilt for choice when it comes to his attacking options and knows that he doesn’t need to add anymore wingers to his squad as competition for places is already intense. However it is good to hear that the Reds are tracking such a talented wonderkid as it means that if he does continue to develop then they are ready to be first in line to splash the cash on him. Sarr’s agent in The Sun’s report said it was just important that he joins a team who he regularly plays for, given the names in the hunt, that implies he may opt to stay at Rennes for at least another season.
