Maddock dismisses Fekir claims

|

Liverpool have not had any contact with Lyon over signing Nabil Fekir since talks over a £53million deal broke down, according to a trusted journalist.

David Maddock who is the Northern football correspondent for the Daily Mirror took to his personal Twitter account to conflict an earlier promising report by the Mirror that claimed that the Reds had re-opened talks over signing Fekir.

Mirror reported that the Reds now believed they could reach a comprise with Lyon over signing the 24-year-old attacker after their previous deal for Fekir fell through at the last minute.

Well this is bizarre and it seems that the Fekir transfer saga takes another twist as far as Liverpool fans are concerned. Maddock who writes for the Mirror has conflicted his newspaper’s own report on the 24-year-old attacker and shared that the Reds are nowhere near being successful in their pursuit of the player. The Reds haven’t even made contact with the French club since a deal fell through and that suggests that his signing isn’t on the horizon. However Maddock does go on to state that the Reds don’t believe they’ll making progress with transfer targets until the World Cup is over so maybe those who hope for Fekir to arrive can cling to that thought. Jurgen Klopp’s side may make contact once the prestigious international tournament ends however one thing is clear based on Maddock’s update, the Reds haven’t begun trying to revive any deal for Fekir as it stands. The attacking midfielder’s potential move to the Reds is as uncertain as ever with all these mixed reports coming out about him.
