Udinese have contacted Liverpool about signing attacker Lazar Markovic, according to Tutto Mercato.

The Italian football news outlet claim that the Serie A side have asked the Reds about recruiting the 24-year-old winger who currently earns £35,000-a-week at Anfield (Source: Total Sportek).

Tutto Mercato report that Anderlecht are thought to be keen on loaning Markovic with the player also attracting the attention of some Spanish clubs.

OPINION

The Liverpool Echo previously stated that Markovic would be departing the Reds again this summer as the Premier League side were looking for a club to take him off their hands, and if seems they’re in luck. As Udinese have reached out to ask about the player then clearly they’re ready to start getting the ball rolling when it comes to signing him. While it’s not stated whether the Italian club are looking to loan or permanently sign the player, the Reds will be hoping it’s the latter. Markovic failed to impress in the 34 appearances he was allowed to make for the club and with his contract expiring next summer, the current transfer window is Jurgen Klopp’s side last chance to get a respectable fee for his services. As the Liverpool Echo’s report shares that he is likely to exit the club shortly then Udinese need to speed up negotiations for the player if they want to win the race for his services.
