Leicester will sign Liverpool goalkeeper Danny Ward in a £12million deal, according to the Sun.

They claim that Ward will be able to speak to Leicester once Liverpool’s massive deal for Alisson is completed.

Leicester have agreed the £12million fee and have asked for permission to speak to the 25-year-old keeper, in what the Sun call a “shock” move.

OPINION

Danny Ward’s time at Liverpool look like it’s coming to an end although he will still get to play Premier League football if his move to Leicester goes through. He’s only played three times for Liverpool and if Loris Karius stays at Anfield his route to the first-team is properly blocked. It’s the best move for him and it probably means that current Leicester number one Kasper Schmeichel will be moving on to – possibly to Chelsea if Thibaut Courtois moves. Ward has impressed across several loan spells, most recently at Huddersfield, but he was always going to be a cover option at Liverpool and now it’s time for him to play the leading role. Leicester have money and still have ambitions in the Premier League, and have made some decent buys over the summer. Ward could prove to be one of the best bargains for them. Liverpool fans will wish him all the luck in the world.
