Marko Grujic would flourish at Cardiff City and Liverpool must look to loan him to the Premier League side this summer.

The Daily Mail previously reported that Crystal Palace had made a late attempt to hijack the Bluebird’s attempts to borrow the Reds’ 6ft 3in midfielder for next season (Transfermarkt).

While working with an experienced manager like Roy Hodgson at Palace would see Grujic learn a thing or two, it’s clear following his remarks that he would flourish at Cardiff City in the 2018/19 campaign.

The 22-year-old spoke about the reported interest in him and revealed that with Cardiff being keen to take him on loan again it meant a lot.

“I have seen it in the newspapers and on the television,” Grujic told Sky Sports.

“Of course it means a lot to me because I was there – it means I showed some good games to them and they want me back.

“But we will see what the best is for me and for the club.”

Grujic had a wonderful spell at Cardiff in the Championship in the second half of last season as he put in several impressive displays during his 14 outings for them.

The promising midfielder no doubt wanted the season to keep going as he seemed to find his stride at the Welsh club and looked ready to keep delivering the goods.

It’s easy to see that following Grujic’s remarks he clearly enjoyed his time at Cardiff as much as they enjoyed having him and this means he would quickly settle in if loaned to them again.

The powerful midfielder already knows how Cardiff manager Neil Warnock wants him to play and would be able to quickly establish himself as a key player at the club for this reason.

Especially as the manager is so keen to have him at his club that he has already spoken publicly to BBC Sport about signing him this summer.

For this reason he’ll be able to easily continue the momentum he gained from playing for the Bluebirds last season, straight into the upcoming campaign which means he will develop faster than if he went to Palace.

Also given that he has tough competition at Anfield for a starting place in Jurgen Klopp’s midfield, he needs to secure a temporary exit so his progress as a player doesn’t stall.

Therefore the Reds must choose to loan Grujic to Cardiff ahead of any other club in the race for him as after he revealed his affection towards the Welsh side, it’s clear he will flourish there ahead of any other possible destination.
