Some Liverpool supporters on social media reacted to Lazar Markovic making Jurgen Klopp’s 29-man squad for the Reds’ pre-season tour of America.

The Reds officially confirmed ,via their club website ,who was on their way to America to represent the club in the International Champions Cup where they are set to take on Borussia Dortmund, Manchester City and Manchester United on Friday.

Upon seeing Markovic’s name in the squad, several fans reacted positively to his presence with one stating that Klopp must fancy giving him a chance to feature.

The 24-year-old winger has featured only 34 times for the Reds since joining them in 2014 and has had several loan spells away from the club during his time at Anfield.

Live 4 Liverpool have rounded up a selection of tweets by some Reds supporters about Markovic being in the squad for the ICC 2018:

OPINION

It seems there is definitely a section Liverpool fans crying out for Markovic to have a chance in pre-season this year based on the reactions to him being in the squad for the Reds’ tour of the USA. The 24-year-old surprisingly scored against Blackburn Rovers recently in pre-season and it seems one fan in particular was impressed with how he linked up with Naby Keita and Daniel Sturridge. If Markovic, who currently earns £35,000-a-week (Source:Total Sportek) is able to be an attacking threat and link up with his teammates successfully while in the USA with the team, then Klopp will definitely welcome him back in the fold rather than cast him aside. However on the flip side of that if the winger fails to prove his worth while in America then it seems he’ll be heading out of the club sooner rather than later.
