Some Liverpool fans on social media reacted to the idea of the club considering a move for Real Madrid attacker Lucas Vaquez.

The Reds were reported as being in the hunt for the 27-year-old winger by Spanish publication Marca and while there were a few supporters fond of the idea there was several who didn’t want Jurgen Klopp to sign the attacking player.

Marca claimed that Arsenal, Chelsea and AC Milan were also keen on signing Vazquez but that the winger was currently happy at Madrid.

Live 4 Liverpool have rounded up a selection tweets made by Reds supporters about the club pursuing Vazquez:

OPINION

Vazquez is certainly an interesting player for the Reds to consider signing as he did impressively end his 2017/18 campaign with 16 assists and eight goals. However Klopp already has a lethal attacking force available to him and shouldn’t be focusing on welcoming a new costly attacker to the club. The Daily Mail followed up Marca’s report by sharing that Vazquez has a £275million release clause and that he was Madrid’s most used player last season. Both these facts imply that the Reds would have to spend a staggering amount to get the player’s signature and it’s simply something that is not worth them doing at this time. It seems that while the attacker is a great threat in front of goal, Reds fans generally believe the club would be better pursuing other options if they insist on signing a new attacker this summer.
