Liverpool will loan Divock Origi to Borussia Dortmund but only if the German side commit to permanently purchasing him next summer, according to The Telegraph.

The national newspaper report that the Reds are willing to sanction a loan move to the German giants for their attacker who earns £28,000-a-week at Anfield (Source: Spotrac) but only if there is agreement for Dortmund to buy him at the end of it.

The Telegraph report that Dortmund remain in talks over acquiring Origi’s services with the Bundesliga side trying to find a breakthrough in order to avoid matching the player’s £27million price tag which they deem too high.

OPINION

Origi will be hoping these two European giants find away to strike a deal for his services as it would be fantastic move for him. It’s no surprise that The Telegraph believed the forward is keen to make the jump to Dortmund as they’re a huge club even though he’s happy to fight for place in Jurgen Klopp’s side. Origi will struggle to regularly feature for the Reds as not only is competition tough for places, he failed to look impressive during pre-season. The 23-year-old forward may also be able to play on either flank but that doesn’t look like being enough to see chances coming thick and fast for him when it comes to featuring. While Borussia Dortmund will no doubt be willing to commit themselves to taking Origi on a full-time basis, agreeing a figure to pay with the Reds may prove to be the sticking point. The German giants clearly have doubts about the player’s £27million price tag and easy to see why based on his recent form. However perhaps Jurgen Klopp’s side will wisely knock a few million off their valuation, just like they did for Southampton with the deal for Danny Ings, in order to see Origi exit.
