Liverpool must change their plans not to sign anymore players in the current transfer window and dip their toe into the market in order to find a suitable replacement for Adam Lallana.

David Maddock of the Daily Mirror reported via his personal Twitter account on Friday that the Reds were planning on focusing on getting rid of players and that there was no chance of them recruiting anyone else in the days that remain of the transfer window.

The Reds must change these plans immediately and look to bring in an attacking midfielder capable of replacing Lallana in the squad.

While the 30-year-old has previously impressed in his Reds career so far, his injury record proves that he can’t be relied upon to say fit in the upcoming campaign.

The Reds confirmed via their official website  ahead of their friendly against Napoli that Lallana had been withdrawn from the squad as a precaution due to suffering a calf injury.

While the official statement went on to share that the experienced midfielder was expected to be available again next week, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he remained stuck on the sidelines or suffered another set-back.

Lallana who earns £110,000-a-week at Anfield (as stated by the BBC) is pretty much the club’s only obvious option when it comes to picking an attacking midfielder to play.

However given that he only managed to make 12 league appearances last season due to injury and is already having to be protected due to concerns about his calf then it’s clear that the Reds need at least one other option, especially if Jurgen Klopp wants to seriously compete in several different competitions.

Lallana may have served the Reds well in the past but it’s clear that he needs replacing solely due to his ever-worrying injury record and the Reds shouldn’t risk waiting to January in order to find a replacement.

Therefore this means that Klopp simply must change the club’s plans to recruit no one else before August 9 as following Lallana’s latest injury concern, he can’t be trusted to stay fit.
