Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo is firmly in the running to depart the club, according to Football Whispers.

The 21-year-old right-sided flyer – who spent the duration of the 2017/2018 campaign on loan at Premier League new boys Fulham – looks set to depart Anfield after his seven year spell with the club.

Football Whispers – which is used by the likes of Sky Sports – rounds up claims of transfers from around the world and calculates the likelihood of a player signing for a club based on that information.

Ojo scored 3.3 out of five, meaning that he is the fourth-most likely player to leave the club after the likes of Divock Origi and Marko Grujic.

The young attacker – reported to be on £10,000 a week (Spotrac) – netted four goals in 24 appearances for the Cottagers last season, helping them achieve promotion to the top-flight via the play-offs.

OPINION

This whisper appears to be a rather well-founded one considering the fact that Ojo has been linked with a move to a number of clubs in this transfer window. It does not seem surprising that he is likely to move away from the club, as he does not feature in boss Jurgen Klopp’s plans for the upcoming season and will not be getting anywhere near the first team any time soon. Liverpool have an abundance of attacking talent and unfortunately that department is too overcrowded for him to make any sort of impact. It can be argued that he is only 21 and needs the chance to prove himself – which he does – but Klopp cannot afford to hand him that sort of opportunity in such an important season. This year is the year where his team have a genuine shot at challenging for the title and he does not need it hampered by risking a young player like Ojo.
