Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge has reignited his Liverpool form of past times in recent weeks and should be considered in the starting-line up against Crystal Palace.

The English forward only took a matter of seconds to get off the mark in the Reds’ Premier League opener, scoring with his first touch after coming on a substitute in Liverpool’s 4-0 thrashing of West Ham.

The 5ft 9 striker seems to have found his hunger in front of goal once again and has been looking incredibly sharp with six goals in pre-season.

Although mainstay Roberto Firmino is a fan favourite for the Reds, Sturridge should be given the opportunity in front of the TV cameras to prove he is back to the best on Monday night.

The Brazilian has been involved with his country on World Cup duty and may require more time to rest, allowing the hungry Sturridge to take his place.

Sturridge’s partnership with Luis Suarez during the 2013/14 season was electric, as the English forward netted 21 goals in an impressive 29 games with Liverpool narrowly losing out on the league title to eventual winners Manchester City.

Injuries have proved to be the kryptonite of Sturridge’s downgrade in form but, if fully fit, he is a menace to defences which he proved to be on Sunday afternoon in such a short period on the pitch.

Liverpool’s attacking strengths are regarded as the best in the division and the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane should provide Sturridge with a shedload of chances if he were to start against the Eagles.

The 28-yaer-old’s devastating form in recent months should not go unnoticed and should be rewarded with a starting place.
