Tony Cascarino shared his concern for Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah as he stated that the player was clearly having a difficult time.

The retired forward, who can be regularly seen on Sky Sports Daily programme, shared that he thought the Egyptian winger’s current struggles were going under radar due to the Reds having won every one of their games so far.

Cascarino revealed that he thought Salah had gone backwards ever since getting injured in the Champions League final and that he looked like a player who had lost his form.

“Mo Salah is having a difficult time, I think that’s clear,” said the Sky pundit on talkSPORT on Thursday, as quoted by the radio’s website.

“He’s a really frustrated player at the moment, just watch his reaction after Liverpool go 3-2 up and win the game.

“You can clearly see his reaction after Firmino scores the winning goal, he throws a bottle to the ground with anger, you can clearly see that.

“It’s been a tricky last few months for Mo Salah, but it’s going under the radar slightly because Liverpool have won every game.

“Harry Kane has been in the newspapers about his form, it’s all been Harry, Harry, Harry, and yet Mo’s level of performances are clearly nowhere near last year.”

OPINION

Cascarino is right to be concerned about Salah right now as his frustration is there for all to see. However the pundit is wrong to say that he threw a water bottle in anger following Roberto Firmino’s goal in the 3-2 victory over PSG as he did appear to be celebrating the goal. The 26-year-old winger had a tremendous 2017/18 campaign and set the bar really high for himself so no wonder he is struggling to match people’s expectations.  Salah’s injury in the Champions League was less than ideal and didn’t really get plenty of rest following the set-back as of course he was determined to play for Egypt at the World Cup. Jurgen Klopp may considered benching Salah for a game in the near future, in order for him to reflect on his form, as that may be all that it takes for him to sort his head out and unleash his fantastic ability once again. While the 26-year-old has been slightly disappointing this season, it’s worth nothing he has got two goals, as well as two assists, in five league outings so far, which isn’t too shabby.
