Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has repeatedly been enthralled by the performances of Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski, according to Calciomercato.
The Italian news outlet claim that it would be too too hard for the Reds to negotiate a deal to sign the 24-year-old in January but that they could develop their interest in him next summer if Napoli allows it.
Calciomercato report that Napoli are currently trying to tie Zielinski down to a new contract which would see him have a £100million euros (£89.1million) release clause in his deal in order to stop clubs adding him to their shopping lists.
It’s no surprise that Klopp has found himself captivated by the displays of Zielinski as the midfielder is currently in-form having started his 2018/19 campaign in spectacular fashion. The 24-year-old has scored two goals in his first three league outings and has been a standout performer for Napoli. However whether the Reds are able to pry him away from the Italian giants anytime soon is debatable. Napoli will not only do all they can to hold onto the central midfielder but if they do let them go, then the race for his signature will be tough. Calciomercato’s report reveals that Bayern Munich and Manchester City are among the clubs that have been sniffing around Zielinski since last year which means that they could launch pursuits for him in the near future. It’s unknown whether the 24-year-old would even be willing to leave Napoli anytime soon as given his form, he does appear to be loving life at the club currently.
