Some Liverpool fans urge club to sign Fekir

|

Some Liverpool fans took to social media in order to urge their club to sign attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir after he excelled against Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Lyon captain dazzled against the Reds’ Premier League rivals and even got on the scoresheet in order to help side beat Pep Guardiola’s team 2-1 in the prestigious European tournament.

One Reds supporter tweeted that it took one game in the Champions League this season in order for Fekir to become a dream transfer among Liverpool fans before another claimed that the 25-year-old was the final attacking piece of the puzzle needed at Anfield.

OPINION

Fekir who stands at 5ft 8 in tall (Source: ESPN) had a fantastic display against Man City and it’s easy to see why several Reds fans were urging their club to sign him. The 25-year-old was heavily linked with joining Jurgen Klopp’s side in the summer and was thought to be on the verge (Source: Liverpool Echo) of arriving at Anfield. However that didn’t end up being the case and Fekir stayed put while the Reds signed other players to boost their firepower. However the attacker, who has won 19 caps for France and lifted the World Cup in the summer, is clearly a player a section of Reds fan want. Whether the international flourishing against one of the Reds’ Premier League rivals may have made him more alluring is debatable but clearly the 25-year-old is a talented player who would do nothing but boost Klopp’s attacking options. As one fan, who is likely not alone, stated they had their fingers cross a January swoop was on the cards.
