Adam Lallana’s days at Liverpool are surely numbered even though his recent injury issue will see him not miss much playing time.

The Reds provided a positive update via their website on the 30-year-old midfielder after he pulled out of England duty due to a groin injury as they shared he could return to action before the end of September.

However despite Lallana’s recent injury scare being not that serious, at the rate he keeps suffering issues it’s only a matter of time before he’s back on the sidelines again.

The midfielder, who earns £110,000-a-week at Anfield (Source: BBC) , is constantly being dealt a bad hand with injuries and seems to be getting no luckier when it comes to avoiding the medical room.

Lallana had injury hit 2017/18 campaign which saw him only complete 90 minutes on occasion for the Reds and due to being low down in the pecking order, he hasn’t exactly proven his fitness this season as he’s played a grand total of three minutes.

So when you consider that the experienced attacker has already managed to suffer an issue while hardly playing due to not making it through a training season with his nation, alarm bells should be ringing.

The Daily Mail when analysing players whose contracts were running down at the top clubs in the Premier League highlighted Lallana in their Liverpool section.

The newspaper stated that the 30-year-old’s current deal wasn’t set to expire until 2020, with the club having an option to add 12 months on top as well, but that he will have to prove he can be injury-free to stay beyond his current contract.

While 2020 seems a long way off, given that the Reds will want to gain some fee for his services if possible then Lallana needs to prove he is not a walking injury sooner rather than later.

Jurgen Klopp could opt to end the midfielder’s frustrating time in January if he is fit at the time by selling him to a side that will risk taking a chance on him and if he does go at the next window than perhaps a summer exit will be on the cards.

The German boss knows he can’t rely on Lallana if he continues to struggle with injuries so it surely means that even though the latest scare didn’t amount to much that the midfielder’s days at Anfield are numbered.
