Controversial comments from football figures can often get fans really riled up – and that is no different with the Liverpool supporters, who were left fuming at the latest comments made by ex-Everton manager David Moyes.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ ‘Goals on Sunday‘, Moyes remarked how the current Liverpool team is not the best he has seen in the Premier League – despite their unbeaten start to the season, which has amounted to six wins out of six.

It remains to be seen why Moyes has made such comments – after all, the Reds are in the best position that they have ever been in to be genuine contenders for the title.

Amongst their ranks, they have the Premier League’s top scorer for the 2017/18 campaign, Mo Salah – who netted a staggering 31 goals last term.

Obviously he is not their only talent – they also have the likes of Naby Keita and Alisson Becker to call upon.

This is why Liverpool must prove their doubter wrong and usurp Manchester City as champions in May next year.

Judging by his latest remarks, Moyes obviously does not think that Liverpool are capable of winning the league crown this season – but there will be more people than not who will firmly disagree with him.

They do not need to take any notice of the comments he has made obviously, but it would be rather bittersweet if they did go on to secure title glory.

Liverpool teams that have come and gone before have undoubtedly been packed with talent – but this year’s crop of players seem to be on a roll, and it looks like nobody will be able to stop them any time soon.

As it stands, the Reds are firmly on course to prove Moyes wrong – and they will have their fingers crossed that they will be the ones laughing come the end of the season.
