Liverpool midfield duo Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita are yet to return to full training ahead of this weekend’s clash with Arsenal, according to Sky Sports.

The broadcaster reports that it remains a doubt as to whether the pair will be involved with the fixture away to the Gunners on Saturday after training by themselves on Wednesday.

Neither player was involved with the recent win over Cardiff last week as well as the victory over Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League, as they attempt to recover from their hamstring injuries.

OPINION

If Henderson and Keita are absent for yet another match, Jurgen Klopp will no doubt be gutted. The clash with Arsenal is an important one, and he will want his full strength team primed and ready to face their rivals. Even though the Gunners do not provide a direct threat to their hopes of a title win this season, it is incredibly important that the Reds get a good result here. They need to keep Manchester City on their toes – and the only way of doing that is by proving themselves against Arsenal. However, with these two players likely to be missing, the chances of that happening have been seriously hampered. Coping without them was acceptable when facing a newly-promoted team like Cardiff, but they will not expect the same at Arsenal. Nevertheless, Liverpool will be the favourites for this game, and they must live up to that – either with or without their key pair.
