Managers placing faith in young players can often save the club in question a rather substantial amount of money.

That is no different to Liverpool, and the confidence that boss Jurgen Klopp has placed in young-left back Adam Lewis.

According to the Mirror, the Reds are resigned to losing Alberto Moreno – who currently serves an understudy to first choice Andy Robertson – at the end of the season.

Some may say that this will be huge blow for Liverpool, as they would no longer have quality cover in the left-back role.

Well, they are wrong – Lewis has thoroughly impressed in the youth system, and is gently being introduced to the first team fold.

Klopp has hit the nail on the head by placing his trust in the 18-year-old – after all, it has worked before with Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is 20-years-old and already making a mark on the first team.

There is no doubt that Lewis can follow the example of the young England international, especially if he maintains his label as one of the best players in the under-23s set-up.

Not only will Klopp be able to heed the talent of Lewis, but he also has the potential to save millions if he opts for the youngster ahead of recruiting someone else.

The only way the young ace will be able to deal with the pressures of playing in the first team is if he is thrown right in the deep end – if he is able to cope with this, then he may establish himself as a regular.

Playing for Liverpool is no doubt a huge responsibility, but seeming as Klopp has already placed his confidence in Lewis, then he will have no problems whatsoever.

It is refreshing to see a top-level manager putting their trust in a young up and coming prospect – and fingers crossed that Lewis repays the faith that has been put in him.
