Many Liverpool fans were blown away on social media by midfielder James Milner after it was reported that he was back in training already.

Liverpool Echo reporter James Pearce reported via his official Twitter account that the Reds had received a boost as the 32-year-old central midfielder was back fit ahead of schedule.

The Daily Mirror reported on Tuesday that Milner was on course to defy the odds by potentially being available for Saturday’s clash, despite previously being expected to be on the sidelines with a hamstring injury until November, and it seems he has quickly returned after all.

Milner has played eleven times across all competitions this season, scoring two goals and registering two assists in the process.

Milner cannot be kept down and it’s easy to see why a section of Reds have been blown away following this update. It may have previously been reported that Milner was on course to return early but it was still a surprise to see him being reported as back in training. The 32-year-old midfielder just continues to defy the odds and it’s absolutely astounding how he does it. As one Red fan tweeted at the rate Milner is going it’s easy to believe he’ll be playing well into his 50s as he just looks unstoppable. Milner regularly covers a lot of ground when playing for the Reds and yet shows no signs of fatigue despite constantly featuring. While the Reds can cope without him against Huddersfield Town on Saturday, it’s nice to have him to call upon if things go array. The Terriers will put up a fight after all as they will be trying to claw at least a point from their clash with the Reds in order to aid them in the early stages of the season.
