Liverpool are reportedly set to miss out on highly-rated Flamengo attacker Lucas Paqueta, and many fans have taken to Twitter to express their disappointment at the news.
Liverpool fans have been reacting to this development on Twitter, with many seemingly annoyed and downcast over their reported failure to sign the young talent.
Live 4 Liverpool have rounded up some of the best tweets below.
These Liverpool fans seem extremely disappointed by their reported failure to sign Paqueta, with AC Milan looking poised to spend £30million on the 21-year-old in January. Paqueta is a brilliant talent, with the youngster already catching the eye of Tite and earning two caps for Brazil already. The only worry about Paqueta would be that he is still raw, and has only played in Brazil. That would mean there would likely be a significant bedding-in time which would see him adapt to English football – just as the club are seeing with Fabinho at the moment. That being said, there is no doubt that Liverpool could have done with his talents this season, with the Reds missing out on Nabil Fekir from Lyon over the summer. As a result, they are missing some creativity down the middle going forward, with no real number 10 in the squad. There is the argument that Xherdan Shaqiri could fill that role, but Jurgen Klopp has so far not deployed the Switzerland international in that position.
Apparently Lucas Paqueta has decided to join AC Milan, wrong decision in my opinion.
If it isn't true I still hope Liverpool go in for him in January/Summer. #LFC

#LFC’s attack further blunted by lack of attacking impetus from midfield. Can’t wait to have Keita fully fit (don’t think he is now) and firing. A Paqueta type of signing couldn’t come soon enough.

AC Milan have signed Lucas Paqueta. You know, the player “we were signing” 2 days ago. #LFC

Paqueta was a no brainier, don't know why we didn't go for him. At the right age, cheap £26M, no work permit issues, fits into a position we're in dire need of, is available this January to help us push for the title but no, Klopp's not interested, I just don't get it. #lfc
