Securing the capture of a highly-rated youngster is often regarded as a masterstroke – and that is no different with Liverpool.

Football news outlet HITC Sport have reported that the Reds are tracking “highly-rated” defender Adrian Corral from La Liga side Villarreal, along with some of their Premier League rivals and other top clubs from Spain and Italy.

For a player who is only 16-years-old, Corral is getting a vast amount of attention.

The fact that he is attracting some of the top clubs in Europe only go to show what a talent Villarreal have in the making.

This is why Liverpool must blow everyone out of the water and secure the capture of the highly-rated teenager for themselves.

Yes, some fans may argue that signing someone so young is not worth the effort – however, putting time into a player like Corral may prove dividends in the end.

Liverpool signed young striker Bobby Duncan in the summer, and at the age of 17, he has already attended training with the first team.

Villarreal are no doubt very reluctant to part ways with one of their rising stars, but joining Liverpool could just be the making of him.

The centre-back has represented Spain at under-16 level and he has impressed when playing for Villarreal’s youth sides in the last 18 months – quite astonishing when you remember what age he is.

He has the potential to be a real star, and Liverpool are capable of moulding him into that star.

The Reds would be mad not to make a move for the youngster in January – and they will soon regret it if one of their rivals won the race for his signature.

Liverpool must prove victorious in the battle for Corral’s services, as he is most definitely a star in the making.
