Many Liverpool fans on social media heaped praise on attacker Xherdan Shaqiri after his performance during the 1-0 win over Huddersfield Town.
The 27-year-old started the game for the Reds and a large section of supporters enjoyed his performance as several labelled him a joy to watch.
Shaqiri, who arrived at Anfield from Stoke City in the summer, has been sparingly used by Jurgen Klopp this season and was making only his fifth league appearance of the season against the Terriers.

OPINION
Shaqiri was fantastic against Huddersfield Town and really made the most of being handed a rare start by Klopp. The Reds winger is no doubt chomping at the bit to impress as he probably wants to get as much game time as possible, so no wonder one fan tweeted to describe him as looking like he was possessed. Some players may have been happy to sit on the fence and just hold on to the narrow 1-0 lead, but Shaqiri clearly wanted to make a statement. The 27-year-old may not have scored a goal to celebrate but he certainly captured people’s attention with his latest display, in what was a fairly uneventful game on Saturday. With the Reds set for mid-week action against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League in the coming weeks, perhaps Shaqiri will get another run out against them after his impressive display against the Terriers, as it’s the least he deserves.
