Liverpool are in the hunt to sign 20-year-old Benfica forward Luka Jovic who is currently on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt, according to LFC Globe.
The dedicated Liverpool website shared that the Reds were interested in signing the attacker who is currently valued at £20million but probably would wait until the summer to look at a possible deal once his loan is over.
LFC Globe report that Benfica could be open to selling the youngster for a profit as they did give Frankfurt an option to buy the player once his loan deal expires.
Jovic has lit up the Bundesliga this season, scoring seven goals in eight appearances, and even broke a record in Germany’s top-flight (Source: GOAL) by becoming the youngest player to score five goals in a a Bundesliga match.
The record-breaking Bundesliga forward would be welcome with open arms at Anfield but a lot needs to happen for him to arrive. Given that he is currently on loan with Frankfurt and they have an option to buy, they will probably end up signing him. However given that he is now one of the hottest properties in European football at the moment, given his form and age, then they might wish to make a quick sale to rake in the dough. Yet even if this is the case then the Reds will no doubt have fierce competition for his signature from all across European. LFC Globe’s report shares that Jurgen Klopp is alert to the situation and he will need to be for the club to have any chance of getting him. While the Reds aren’t in desperate need of signing a new forward but if Jovic does turn out to be on the market, then it’s still worth the club pursuing him.
