Liverpool are preparing to make a £67million move for Borussia Dortmund attacker Christian Pulisic, according to El Gol Digital.

The Spanish outlet claims that the Reds will in fact make their much-anticipated move for the USA international, with the swoop seeing striker Daniel Sturridge potentially leaving the club.

El Gol Digital’s report claims that Spanish side Real Sociedad see the Englishman as an ideal solution to their problems up front.

Pulisic’s addition would likely see Sturridge’s game time significantly reduced, with the 29-year-old already behind Liverpool’s famous front three in the pecking order.

OPINION

There’s a lot to digest here. Honestly, £67million doesn’t sound like enough to snare a player of Pulisic’s quality. Dortmund know how good he is and they know what the market for a young player like him is, so it’s unlikely that the German side would accept £67million for the 20-year-old. However, if they are convinced that the player is going to leave no matter what then the Reds might be able to get a reduced deal. The Sturridge side of things is a bit more unexpected. Real Sociedad seem like a fairly random landing spot for the England international, whose future at Anfield is uncertain. He is in the final year of his contract and is awaiting a decision on his charge for alleged gambling misuse. If he were to get a big ban of some sort you would think that that would scupper any possible move away – as well as his ability to earn a new Liverpool contract. It would be interesting to see more English players abroad, though, so in that sense Sturridge in Sociedad would be entertaining, but who knows what’s going to happen here.
