Liverpool are tracking Mallorca’s teenage attacking sensation Victor de Baunbag, according to Sport.
The Spanish outlet claims that Jurgen Klopp’s side have been tracking the 18-year-old for some time, and have now reached out to the player’s entourage to register their interest.
De Baunbag has been excelling in Mallorca’s academy for years, finishing as the club’s top goal scorer in every season he has been with the Spanish side.
He is said in the report to be desribed as a striker who is “ideal for the Premier League”.
He is essentially a reserve team player at this stage but drops down to the youth teams for big games, however he is expected to receive some first team minutes at some point this campaign.
Sport’s report on De Baunbag is a glowing one, talking him up as a terrific young prospect who will go on to have a good career. They claim that those who know the frontman feel that he’s an ideal fit in the Premier League, and it appears that the Reds have come to the same conclusion. It’s always good for top teams to be looking to the future, that’s why they remain top teams in the long term, and Liverpool are wise to be looking for attacking reinforcements. Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane won’t be around forever so it’s sensible for Liverpool to be looking at a player like De Baunbag. It’s difficult to know how good the teenager is because he’s never played for Mallorca’s first team, but his record in the club’s youth teams is good and so there’s a decent chance that he’ll fulfil his promise moving forward. If he does then there’s every chance he’ll be playing his football at Anfield in the future.
