Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold scored his first international goal as England beat USA 3-0 in a friendly at Wembley on Thursday, and some football fans have taken to Twitter to drool over his display.

Jesse Lingard opened the scoring for the Three Lions with a wonderful curling effort before Alexander-Arnold smashed a low shot inside the far post to double their lead, with Callum Wilson grabbing a debut goal to round things off.

A section of football fans have been reacting to the result on Twitter, with many singling out the Liverpool flyer for his promising display.

COMMENTARY

These fans were obviously impressed by Alexander-Arnold’s display for England, and you can see why. The Liverpool flyer looked back to his best after a testing few weeks, with the youngster struggling to find his best form for the Reds of late. His finish was truly from the top drawer, with his outstanding technique meaning the ball stayed low and Brad Guzan had no chance in goal despite the favourable angle for the goalkeeper. Hopefully the starlet takes some confidence from his display on Thursday and starts to find his feet again for Liverpool. When he is on form he is clearly the club’s best option at right-back, with his dynamism, pace, and delivery from wide areas making him a top prospect. They will need him back fit and firing in the coming weeks and over the Christmas period if they want any chance of toppling Manchester City in the league.
