Liverpool will be aiming to pick up where they left off before the international break with a victory over Watford this weekend, who themselves have endured a mixed start to the season.

The Reds recorded a 2-0 win over Fulham before the two week break from the Premier League, so they will be looking to maintain their unbeaten start in the top-flight over the Hornets at Vicarage Road on Saturday.

During the international break, midfield duo Naby Keita and Jordan Henderson returned to full fitness, while Trent Alexander-Arnold netted his first goal for England in their 3-0 win over the USA last week.

Keita – who is on £120,000-a-week [Spotrac] – is expected to make the starting XI after a clean bill of health, but Henderson is expected to remain on the bench even though he has recovered from injury – which means that Gini Wijnaldum and Fabinho are expected to start in the middle of the park alongside the returning James Milner in the second of two changes.

Even though Xherdan Shaqiri blew everyone away with his mouthwatering performance for Switzerland at the weekend, the 5ft 7in [Transfermarkt] livewire is not expected to be started by Jurgen Klopp despite earning a call-up against Fulham last time out.

The back four is expected to remain the same, especially after Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold’s impressive displays for England recently, as well as Andrew Robertson for Scotland.

Klopp is not expected to make any other changes to the team apart from bringing mainstay Milner back into the side after he was benched against Fulham.
