COMMENTARY
Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson got himself carelessly sent off in the 3-0 victory over Watford on Saturday and this means he is set to miss next week’s clash with Everton. While the Reds being without the captain should be a blow for them ahead of the Merseyside Derby, Toffees supporters were the ones moaning about him not taking part. Given that Jurgen Klopp remarked in his press conference after the game against the Hornets, as transcribed by the Liverpool Echo, that “both” yellow cards Henderson received, it seems like the Reds aren’t set to appeal his card. Therefore while Toffees fans jokingly tweet they wanted their club to appeal, it seems that will just have to get used to the idea of not facing Henderson next weekend. The central midfielder hasn’t had the best 2018/19 campaign so far, with injury playing its part for that, and for that reason it is easy to see why Toffees fans are gutted about him missing the derby. However given that Marco Silva’s side have impressed at times this season, the fan who claims Henderson was their best chance of winning sounds like he’s being sarcastic.
