Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has praised Reds attacker Mohamed Salah for his sensational performance against Bournemouth on Saturday.

The Egypt international netted a sublime hat trick as he demonstrated the form of last season in Liverpool’s 4-0 victory away at Bournemouth.

And Carragher was clearly impressed with the former Roma man, summing up his performance in one word on his personal Twitter account: “Brilliant,” he said.

There was a whiff of offside about the 26-year-old’s first strike, but his second and third efforts were out of this world as he steered Jurgen Klopp’s side to another vital three points in the Premier League.

OPINION

Salah was absolutely phenomenal against Bournemouth on Saturday. He single-handedly took the game by the scruff of the neck and determined that it would be he who secured the victory for Liverpool. His second and third goals were beautiful, ending any hopes of a Cherries comeback. He somehow managed to keep his feet after being fouled during a mazy run for his second strike and still had the temerity to steer the ball expertly past Asmir Begovic in the home goal. His third goal was sheer brilliance. He rounded Begovic not once but twice before cooly slotting home to put a stamp on the result. It was an emphatic performance from the Reds and Salah was a big part of that. He looked firmly back to his best on Saturday, and that’s a scary thought for the rest of the Premier League. Klopp’s team needed to deliver a thumping after a couple of months of grinding out results in the top flight and boy did they do it at the Vitality. Salah was the main man on Saturday and everyone else should be very worried.
