BBC pundit Garth Crooks has gushed over Liverpool star Mo Salah for his performance in the 4-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday.

The Reds battered the Cherries thanks to a hat-trick from the attacking dazzler and an own goal from Steve Cook, and Crooks could not get enough of the Anfield hero after his impressive exploits.

The pundit claims that Liverpool now look a more “complete team” compared to last season now that Salah is on a scoring streak – even if the Egyptian ace is not in the same astonishing form he was in last term.

“The Egyptian gods are smiling on Mohamed Salah again. The striker went three games without scoring, so he rattled three past Bournemouth in quick succession,” he told BBC Sport.

“He hasn’t been in the blistering form he was last season but Liverpool seem a more complete team than they did last season.

“In the meantime, the Egyptian upper house – the Shura Council – can call off their emergency session now the country’s top player is scoring again!”

OPINION

Is there anything that this player cannot do? Those doubting Salah’s form at the start of the season must be eating their words following this blistering display from him. He was magnificent in every way and he just ran the Bournemouth defence ragged with his excellent play and attacking threat. However, he needs to keep this up if Liverpool are going to stand any chance of winning the Premier League title this season. They now have a better chance than ever after Manchester City lost to Chelsea on the same day, so they must make the most of his good form while they can. He is starting to demonstrate the killer instinct he demonstrated last season and this is something that will undoubtedly get the Liverpool fans excited. He is one of the players they are counting on in this title bid, and he must now show them that he is up for it.
