OPINION
You can completely understand where the Liverpool supporters are coming from here because Xherdan Shaqiri has had such an impact on this team already this season. He looked lively once again in the first half of the Reds’ clash with Bournemouth on Saturday, constantly looking to make things happen and open up the game in his side’s favour. The Cherries are a decent side who defend well, so someone who can unlock the defence like Shaqiri is imperative against them. The Switzerland international is growing in influence on Merseyside and he’s getting more and more football as a consequence. He had to battle his way into the first team early on in his Liverpool tenure, but he is now a key player for manager Jurgen Klopp. His first-half display against Bournemouth won’t have done his prospects of regular football any damage. He was involved in most of the visitors attacks at the Vitality Stadium, dinking a nice ball through for Mohamed Salah after about 15 minutes and generally looking threatening throughout the first period.
