Liverpool attacker Lazar Markovic could seal his exit in the next week with Italian side Fiorentina the most likely to grab his services, according to the Daily Express.

The national newspaper state that the 24-year-old winger has had an unremarkable spell at Anfield and that Serie A is likely his destination as Fiorentina could snap him up in a cut-price deal.

The Daily Express report that Markovic’s exit is likely to occur shortly as all parties involved in a potential deal will desperately attempt for an agreement to be found.

OPINION

It’s very believable that Markovic’s bags are practically packed at Anfield as he is completely out of the first-team picture. The Reds attacker hasn’t made an appearance for Jurgen Klopp’s side all season and has only appeared twice for the U-23s in the Premier League 2 so far. Also given that Markovic’s contract expires in the summer, it’s very easy to believe that the Reds will agree to a cut-price deal this month just to ensure they get a fee for his services. This is especially the case when you consider the Reds originally paid £20million for Markovic (Source: BBC) in order to pry him away from Portuguese giants Benfica. While no concrete offer has been made for his services, as it would have been mentioned in the Express’ report, if Fiorentina are really keen to get him, it won’t take them long to scramble together what will no doubt be a low amount to get him.
