Porto star Eder Militao is keen on a move to the Premier League amid interest from Liverpool, according to UOL Esporte.

The Brazilian outlet report that representatives of the 20-year-old Brazil international have already met Real Madrid, but he prefers the idea of a move to England with the Reds, Everton and Manchester United in the hunt.

UOL claim that a summer move for Militao is all but certain, with the versatile enforcer keen on a switch to a bigger club where he can challenge for titles and play against the best in the world.

OPINION

Militao’s performances for Porto since joining the club for just £3.5million in the summer have put him on the map as one of the world’s biggest defensive prospects. The interest in him is growing by the day, and there will inevitably be many more teams scrambling for his signature in the summer. It is unfortunate in many ways for Porto that Militao has performed so well, with an exit after one year now seemingly inevitable. That being said, the Primeira Liga giants are set to make a huge profit on the Brazilian, who will likely cost around £50million at the end of the season. Liverpool would indeed do well to snap Militao up in the summer, although defence is not necessarily a priority for Jurgen Klopp right now. There is no doubt that the 20-year-old would represent an upgrade on Dejan Lovren or Joel Matip, so if Klopp does want to strengthen his backline then this would be a good move.
