OPINION

Saturday’s first half performance against Brighton & Hove Albion was another excellent bit of work for Liverpool left back Andrew Robertson. The Scotland captain looked likely from the get go and was getting forward at will in an attempt to put the hosts under the cosh at the AMEX Stadium. He should have got himself an assist early on when he burst forward and delivered a terrific cross into the box, only for attacker Roberto Firmino to poke the ball wide. The Brazilian’s miss was a shame because Robertson’s ball in was worthy of a goal. Still, that didn’t deter the former Hull City man as he continued to produce an energetic display on the left hand side of the defence. Robertson really has made the world of difference to Jurgen Klopp’s team and there’s no doubt that he is now among the finest full backs in world football. His first half performance here demonstrated that fact.
